John 1:12-16 (KJV)
12 But as many as received him, to
them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his
name: 13 Which
were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and
cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is
preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we
received, and grace for grace.
John 1:12-16 (TLB)
11-12 Even in his own land and among
his own people, the Jews, he was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and
receive him. But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children
of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them. 13 All
those who believe this are reborn!—not a physical rebirth resulting from human
passion or plan—but from the will of God. 14 And Christ became a human being and
lived here on earth among us and was full of loving forgiveness* and truth. And
some of us have seen his glory*—the glory of the only Son of the heavenly
Father!* 15 John
pointed him out to the people, telling the crowds, “This is the one I was
talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming who is greater by far than I
am—for he existed long before I did!’” 16 We have all benefited from the rich
blessings he brought to us—blessing upon blessing heaped upon us!
John 1:12-16 (NIV)
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to
those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children
born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but
born of God. 14 The
Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the
glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and
truth. 15 (John
testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about
when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before
me.’”) 16 Out
of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.
Through the Grace of God:
•
The power to become the true children of God
has been released unto us and upon us from the beginning.
•
It is very important to trust in the fulness
of Christ so as to activate the grace needed, to confirm the grace available,
for God's boundless grace in our lives.
But as many of us
that have received Him – carry the baptism of the mystery in the
fulness of Christ, have the power to consent to The Gospel, have the right to
become and comprehend with all saints (Ephesians 3:15-18)
Prayer:
•
Lord please reveal and deal what is limiting my
understanding of the finished work of Calvary.
•
Increase my capacity to consent to the mystery
of the Gospel, and enlarge my life in walking in every aspect of the segment of
the Gospel.
•
Help me to continually walk in the honour that
the Gospel of Jesus Christ has bestowed upon my life. (Psalm 149:9)
The Word became flesh
– was also a subject to the calamities and struggles of human nature, made weak
in every way to pave way for crucifixion, but yet! did not stop to become the
Word of God! (Hebrews 2: 14-18)
Prayer:
•
Lord please collide afresh with anything that is
limiting me in becoming the joy of many generations.
•
Uproot any other tree that is growing along,
with an aim to obstruct my growth into the tree of righteousness (the planting
of the Lord).
•
Lord please make me Your true voice, and Your
true witness in this generation and for generations to come.
And we beheld His
Glory – the disciples saw the brightness of God's glory in Jesus in His
days in the flesh, and they built their lives on that testimony.
Prayer:
•
Lord please do not hide Yourself under the veil
of parables in my life, and in my labour in Your Kingdom.
•
Help me to continually live in the fulness of
Your grace and truth, where I am made fit for You and all that concerns Your
Kingdom everyday of my life,
And of his fulness
have we all received – “Grace for Grace”, one
measure of grace in something for another higher level of grace in that thing,
from one level of a measure to its full measure – a level of grace becoming
a pledge or platform for another level of grace!
Prayer:
•
Lord please help me to grow in the image of Your
Grace, and make my life compatible with this growth.
•
Activate the fulness of Jesus in every area of
my life, make me a true witness and a true voice of Your Grace.
•
Make my life a testimony of the Mystery of the
Gospel, renew my stand in the message of The Cross. HELP ME TO FUNCTION PROPERLY IN THE GRACE THAT SERVES AS A PLATFORM FOR
ANOTHER GRACE.
