The Comforter Has Come: My Glory (My Tongue) Rejoices!

Psalm 16:9
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Acts 2: 26
Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Peter, quoting from the book of Psalm in his explanation on the manifestation of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, interpreted (by the Holy Spirit) ‘my glory’ as ‘my tongue’.
Little wonder then that God laid great emphasis on the use of the TONGUE (the mouth).

James 3: 1-10 enumerates all the evil the tongue is capable of:

·         A little member but boasts great things
·         A fire of hell that can destroy one’s whole existence
·         A world of iniquity
·         Defiles the whole body
·         Unruly
·         Full of deadly poison
·         Untamable by man

Therefore, naturally speaking, the tongue is the shame, ugliness and bane of the natural life.
But Hallelujah, JESUS has given us the ONE who tames our tongue and it becomes our glory! When we are baptised (fully immersed) in and overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, we become a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body.

Prayers:
  • My tongue is to glorify God, therefore, any misuse is unacceptable. Lord, please search me, cleanse me from any misuse, make me very uncomfortable each time I am tempted to misuse my tongue.
  • Fill me continually with the fire of the Holy Spirit so that only words/messages inspired/given by You will proceed from my mouth Lord. Matt 12:12, Eph 4: 25-32, Col 3:16.
  • Let my life continually exude with JOY in the HOLY GHOST – Rom 14:17.

Who is the baptiser in the Holy Spirit?

Matt 3: 11, Mark 1: 7-8, Luke 3:16, John 1:25-27, 31-32.
The heart of the ministry of John the Baptist was to manifest Christ to the world as THE BAPTISER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT as emphasized in all the four Gospels.

Effect of the encounter in people’s lives: Matt 12: 34
  • The woman at the well – John 4: 13 - 30. See how her tongue changed from confrontational and abusive to that of a seeker and listener as she began to drink of the Water the Lord gave her which immediately became a fountain springing up unto everlasting life. Her tongue became her glory as she went to town with the good news!!
  • Peter and the brethren in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost – Acts 2. Peter, the impulsive, fearful liar became an unstoppable bold, joyful, insightful proclaimer of the message of the Cross. His glory (tongue) indeed rejoiced!
  • Saul of Tarsus – Acts 9: 17-22. A ruthless, conniving, injurious terrorist became a kind-hearted, passionate proclaimer of the Way he once hated and persecuted.
  • The house of Cornelius – Acts 10: 44-46. Gentiles speaking in tongues and glorifying God!
Prayer:
  • Dear Lord Jesus, baptise me afresh with the Holy Spirit so that I too will experience the visible, palpable, immediate, tangible transformation that these people received when they encountered Him.

The Purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit:
  • To mark and seal us as God’s holy and set apart people, bringing Him glory always – Eph. 1:14-15.
  • For the manifestation of the supernatural as attestation to the preaching of the complete Gospel of Jesus Christ – Mark 16: 15-20, Heb 2: 3-4, 1 Cor 12: 4-11.
  •  For the unity of the universal Body of Christ – 1 Cor 12:12-13.

Prayers:
  • Lord, it is an aberration not to walk in the supernatural since You have sent us Your Holy Spirit, let Your anointing attend this Temple (my life). The unbelieving world is expecting/demanding from us the manifestation of the supernatural.
  • Lord, the church apparently has lost the presence of the Holy Spirit, thus all the fetishism we see all around. Please, come again Lord, through Your correct agents (Jehus) to clear out the merchandisers from the Church.
  • Bring back order so unity can be restored in the Church that You purchased unto yourself at such a great price Lord!
  • COME HOLY SPIRIT AND ABIDE, LET OUR GLORY (TONGUE) REJOICE ALWAYS!
