Acts 8: 5-6
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
- Lord you are looking for vessels to carry Christ to the people, Lord help me not to be quiet when I should speak
Acts 8:26-30, 35
26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
- Lord, help me and cause me to be sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
- Lord, help me not to ignore what seems to be small leading of the Holy Spirit. May I not use head knowledge to rationalise the things the Holy Spirit is saying to me or bringing me into.
- Lord, I may not know why You are demanding certain things of me, but help me to obey whatever the instruction.
- Help me to take the leadings of the Holy Spirit seriously.
- Holy Spirit, on every of Your instructions please be specific with me
- Help me not to see how big the task is but help me to know that You are always willing to help me accomplish it, when I obey and step out in faith.
- Lord, please grant me the grace not to delay in carrying out your assignment . Cause me to be swift/ prompt with all Your instructions.
- Help me to be diligent and committed to the study of Your Word. Make me a person of the Word.
- Whatever opportunity You are bringing my way, Lord, please help me to key into them properly. May I not be slothful in my ways
- Keep me in constant communion with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8: 39-40
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
