Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
I walk by faith and not by sight; for the
things I see are temporary.
Lord, I believe and so I say that I walk by
faith and not by sight.
PRAYER:
- Father, open my spiritual eyes to begin to walk with You by faith.
- Please remove every sensitivity in my physical senses so that I will not relate with You from this angle anymore.
- Lord,
please do not let the natural, the physical, the obvious or the legitimate
control my life anymore.
- Since I
cannot please You without faith, please Father, give me the faith of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
- Help me to
begin and continue to please You in all I do.
- Lord, let
it be unto me according to my confession that I will henceforth live and
walk by faith and not by my senses.
Act 4:1- 4
The New Wine and the Church
Peter and John were preaching the undiluted, fresh,
relevant and immediate message of the gospel. The leaders of the time could not
stand the message as it opposed everything they believed in, and everything
they had preached/taught and stood for. They felt threatened by the message of
the Cross and were willing to do anything to stop it. They crucified Jesus, so they
thought silencing Peter, John and the rest of the disciples should not be a problem
for them! This same Council had condemned Jesus to death a few months back
(Luke22:66) but thanks be to God; they could not silence Him in these
disciples.
However they did not bargain for the Holy Spirit –
the “Embolder”, the “Quickener”, the “Strengthener” and the “Standby”.
They underestimated His work and effect in the lives of the people.
We
cannot afford today to undermine the Holy Spirit and His work
in
our time and generation.
Many of the people who heard the true, immediate
and fresh gospel believed their message and were added to the Church; and the
Church grew, founded on the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as delivered
through the Holy Spirit from the mouth of Peter and John.
PRAYER:
- Lord, touch
the heart of the Church. We plead that Jesus will be the only, central and
crucial message of the Church.
- Lord, grant
holy boldness to Your true disciples within and outside of the Church to
proclaim Christ unreservedly.
- Father,
disturb the sleep of death in Your body – the Church.
- Fill Your
Church with this new wine so that there will be revival in Your
body.
- Let the
Spirit of Christ bring divine unrest within the Church so that we may rise
to our rightful place on earth.
- Jesus said we
are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Please Lord,
re-instate Your church to Your original plan and purpose.
- The world
is refusing to accept the Lord because the Church is more interested in
making a name for themselves through financial and political gains. Lord,
we ask that You will remove the desire for these gains from the Church
that the world may gain Christ instead.
- Father, please
release the fire of the Holy Spirit on your Church worldwide that we may
demonstrate the Lordship of Jesus to the world.
- Lord,
please make Your Church a vibrant agent of change and transformation in
this 21st century.
Hebrews
4:9-11
Labour to enter into His
rest…
PRAYER:
- Holy
Spirit, bring me to a place of complete rest in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Let my
communion with the Father be seasoned with deep revelation, as deep
calleth to the deep within.
- Blessed
Holy Spirit, baptise me to overflowing.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me all ye who
are weary…
PRAYER:
- Lamb of God, I gladly come to You;
- Set me free from my carnal mind once and for all.
- Help me to
continuously look in faith to You.
- Holy
Spirit, set me free that I may be free to live this life of faith.
