PRAYER
- Come Holy Spirit and rest upon us in this hour of prayer.
- Holy Spirit, please reveal Jesus and His love to us.
- Lead us to Jesus who is the Life, the Truth, the Way.
- Holy Spirit, dispel every cloud in our hearts and lives.
- Fill us with gladness through our Master’s name.
- Bring to our memory words that Jesus hath spoken to us.
- Let our tongues proclaim your wondrous grace.
- Holy Spirit, remind me that you are my Friend, Teacher, Comforter and Guide.
- Direct my thoughts and keep me close to Jesus.

ACTS 16v11-15, 40
In Philippi, on Sabbath days, some women always gathered at the riverbank for prayer meetings. Somehow Paul knew about this meeting and was willing to go and share the true gospel with the people at this meeting.
Lydia was one of the women at the prayer meeting. She was seeking the God of the Jews. She was a disciple in the making; she was zealous in her search for God though a Gentile business woman. God responded to her quest by providing her with more truth. She was a true believer in the Lord.
She was a worshipper of God, who listened to Paul; the Lord opened her heart and she accepted what Paul was saying. She was baptised along with members of her household.
Paul and others stayed at her house. She was a persuasive woman with the gift of hospitality like the Shunamite woman and Elisha. Upon their release from prison, in Act 16v40, Paul and Silas returned to her house where a house group met.
Her response was both inward and outward; she was Paul’s first European convert. God indeed rewards those who honestly seek Him.
PRAYER
- Lord, help me to be a right place at the right time.
- Lord, make me a woman/man of prayer.
- Lord, let Your word impact my life.
- Make me a true worshipper O Lord.
- Father, please give me a listening heart as You did with Lydia.
- Father, baptise me with Your Holy Spirit.
- Father, make me a disciple and help me to follow You faithfully.
- Father, make me zealous in my search for You.
1 Thess 1v4-7
The Holy Spirit is a two way worker – He gives us the Word and opens the hearts of the people to hear as He did with Lydia.
- Thank you Lord for loving and choosing us to be your people.
- Holy Spirit, speak the word of God through us with power to assure the listeners.
- Lord, please put Your words in my heart and give me the boldness with which to speak.
- Father, open the hearts of the listeners to receive Your word and transform their lives.
- Lord, whatever your word will bring us, Father let your joy sustain us.
- Father, make us examples to other believers where you have placed us.
Romans 8v2
- Holy Spirit, free me from every condemnation and lies of the enemy in my walk with you.
- Life giving Spirit of God, as you have freed me, let me walk in that freedom all the days of my life.
- Grant me the power to live the life of a true disciple.
Eph 5v18
- Help me to surrender my all to you for leading and guidance.
- Father, in every area of my life that I am ‘leaking’, can you please expose the cause of the leakages and then block them.
- Help me to be filled with the Spirit of God in expressing my heart – let it come from you and be given back to you.
- Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit who guarantees my salvation and walks with and talks with me every day.
Phil 1v6
The Holy Spirit carries out the work of God in us.
- Holy Spirit, You have begun this good work in me. Do not let me hinder You in continuing it.
- I thank You Father God for completing your purpose in me.
- I thank You Holy Spirit for keeping me in your good purpose until Christ Jesus will return for me.
