Galatians 5: 22-25
The fruit of the Spirit can be grouped into three as follows:
1. LOVE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS:
His commandment – John 13: 34-35, 15: 12-13, 17-19.
Evidence of the fulfilment of this commandment began after Pentecost.
Love inward –Acts 2: 41- 47, 4: 34-35 – Caring and sharing among
the brethren.
Love outward – Acts 3: 4-7 – Peter and John reaching out to
the lame man at the beautiful gate.
You cannot love without giving – Amy Carmichael.
Characteristics of this love – 1 Cor.13.
2. JOY, PEACE, GENTLENESS:
No coercion, those who believed were not pressured into taking a
stand – Acts 2:41, 46-47.
3. LONGSUFFERING, FAITHFULNESS, SELF CONTROL:
They faced opposition with boldness, taking a stand of commitment for
the Lord with no one quavering. They spoke with boldness being filled again and
again, and again – Acts 4: 8, 31.
PRAYERS:
What made it possible for the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be so
powerfully manifest among these
disciples? ONENESS. They did
everything in ONE ACCORD. That is why
the deceitfulness of Ananias and Sapphira grieved the Holy Spirit so much.
- Eph. 4:1-6: Lord, please
help me to walk worthy of this calling by keeping the UNITY of the SPIRIT in the bond of
peace.
- Joel 2: 6-11: Keep me in
rank dear Holy Spirit; don’t let me get in Your way. Ananias and his wife
did not get away with getting in Your way.
- Col. 3: 9: Deceitfulness and
lying is the work of the old man that I have already stripped off!
Please Lord, help me be watchful to keep him off at all times. Amen.
